Hello. If this was posted in the past I apologize but I need to know how to set Thunderbird to show my replys on the top. It's really a pain when I reply to a message and the person has to scroll to the end of the thread to read my message. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't seen that happen before, unless your cursor is being placed at the bottom of the message when you write your reply. Does it show the replied message below your text before you send it?

Your online client might be set so that the reply is at the bottom instead of the top.
You can set the text in disending or asencing order.
In the folder you are using press the applications key and look for that setting.
If that doesn't help, put the question how to make reply text show in asending or disending order.
You should get the answer.

I thought. I is probably under your view settings.
To get to these press alt or alt V tab down and you should find change view settings.
In that you can change how your messatges appear in several ways.
I don't use this client, but have looked at it and find it well designed.
What I am suggesting ismost mail clients default controls.

Though I couldn't find it in the folder properties so I'll have to do the search.

It is not in the folder properties.
It is somewhere in the "options" menu, which you get to through the "tools" menu.
There is a way to do it; I know, because I use Thunderbird.
I just can't recall exactly how to do it.
Hope that helps, though.
If not, let me know and I'll see what else I can do.

No not in the folder options. That was a mistake.
Try pressing alt.
Go over to view. It should be there.

Wayne, my response was answering another question the OP asked. We are no longer talking about how to make his messages appear in a different order--the question he now asked was how to set up Thunderbird so his replies to messages will be at the top of the body, rather than at the bottom. There is a way in Thunderbird to change the setting for this, and the previous response I posted tells him, and anyone who may be curious, how to get there.

Yes, I know what he means. I just didn't know how to explain it, because I don't use this program.
I'm going on what I do with Outlook, and some other mail clients.
I have said so.
Now, what I've done is install this one.
My email messages appear as they have always. We are talking about message body.
I still believe it is under view.
Try this.
You wish your answer to what you've sent to appear at the top not the bottom.
You may need to change this setting in your web mail, but if not here's what I'd try first in Thunderbird sense you've not read the help file.
I pressalt V. This takes me to the view.
Next I arrowed down to Layout. I right arrow and I see options
I see classic view is checked.Folder pane is checked. Message pane FA is checked.
Try these settings and see if that doesn't turn them the other way.
Restart it.
This is just an idea. I'll have to get more emails so I can fool with it.
It has changed since I've used it, but was easy to setup and such. .

I got this from the support page.

It seems updates to Thunderbird sometimes knock out the order in which an email response it set up. I want my response to be at the top of the string, and I can't find a way to change it this time around.

Chosen solution

Right click the account in the folder pane. Select Settings Select Composition and Addressing

Set the reply to be Above the Quote
